To Patrick Bates esq(?) Recorder of claims to land in and for the territory of Louisiana Ter, please to take notice that we claim for ourselves and for the heirs of Bartholomew Butcher decd. and Peter Bloom sixteen hundred arpens of land in faith of our having with the persons above mentioned, petitioned to the intendant of New Orleans to whom we were commanded by the then commandant of New Bourbon the 15th June 1802. Not having received a concession, we undertook and surveyed the quantity of lands mentioned in the said petition on the vacant lands as laid down in the two plats (articles?) of survey accompanying this notice. The whole of the vouchers we desire may be registered according to law.
